One of my friends is having her 2nd baby in a couple of months so I have been snooping through the baby shops on etsy. I found a cute shop that makes bibs called www.krispybanana.etsy.com/ They make onesies and burp cloths too. The owner, Kristiana is a former teacher turned stay at home mom with the birth of her baby boy in 2005 and started krispy banana kids! In 2006, she launched her website www.krispybananakids.com/ She had a baby girl in 2008, and started selling on etsy in 2009! All items are made by Kristiana (with the occasional help of cutting fabric by her husband) She takes pride in her work and your satisfaction and happiness is of utmost priority! Many krispy banana kids! items are frayed around the edges so wash and wear will make items fray and look better with each washing. Her items are very durable and have been known to last through several years and children! She welcomes special orders and requests, as well as wholesale orders. Infact, if you mention that you saw her story on my blog you will get 10% off for the rest of this year! Krispy Banana Kids! donates goods and monetary donations to The Sam & Penelope Fund for Neuroblastoma Research and Care Net Pregnancy Center of Central Texas.

Where did she come up with the name 'Krispy Banana'? Two children she knew could not say her name, Kristiana, correctly, so they just called her "Krispy Banana"!

Go visit her webshops right now and receive 10% off today... I know I will find Monicas baby shower gift there! Don't forget to laugh outloud! xoxo Inge

Snowgeese and lot's of em!

John and I went to the Sacramento Wildlife Preserve yesterday to see the famous Snow Geese. I was amazed how many birds there were. We took the auto tour so we could get closeup. I learned that about 2 1/2 million birds vacation here for the winter!! We got upclose and personal with an Egret...we were about 6 feet away. Egrets are my favorite bird. The group of snowgeese in one shot are hanging out and then all of a sudden they flew away! It was amazing. The other photo is of a huge hawk perched in a tree. There were lots of those too.

Laughter is the Best Medicine!

I think you have figured out by now that I Really like to have fun and to me laughing is a sport that should be played daily if not hourly. I think when we grow up we are taught to be serious and that being playful is considered immature. I can remember when I was in my 20s a friend told me (quite seriously) men don't like funny women. If I wanted to catch a man I had better stop acting like a clown... well... in my opinion... if I can't be myself with the people I love, who can I be myself with? I like to be around funny people and watch funny movies and buy fun whimsical things. I think life is much too important to be taken so seriously! What if the world's soldiers were supplied with silly string, whoopie cushions and (my favorite) cream pies? Well, I know that probably won't happen anytime soon....so I will conduct My life as a clown.

With that said, I want to introduce you to a shop owner at etsy who creates the cutest little pixie dolls she calls Sugarcookie Dolls. I mean I haven't seen anything like these... I mentioned in an earlier post that I don't like dolls... BUT these got my attention... they really made me laugh and you know how much I enjoy that! Toni Kelly is a stay at home mom and breast cancer survivor. Her grandmother passed away around 6 years ago... her positive attitude, her sense of humor, the way she dressed and the way she lived her life really left an impression on her... while helping her mother clean out her grandmother's closet, she had an Ah-Ha moment and with her newfound inspiration, she started incorporating bits & pieces of her grandmother's jewelry into her creations... that led to starting Sugar Cookie Dolls in honor of her grandma Cookie. In the summer of 2005 she was diagnosed with breast cancer... which gave her creations a new focus. Her words of advice are...GET A MAMMOGRAM!!!

I'm sure Toni will agree with my phiolosophy... Life is short - so have a blast while your here! and check out out her shop www.sugarcookiedolls.etsy.com/ Toni can also be found on a new online shopping site www.lollishops.com/ I bet you will find a fun Valentines Day gift... oh, and check out her daughters artwork of their English Bulldog... adorable!!!

Have a fun day and don't forget to laugh outloud!

xoxo Inge

P.S. I found a man who appreciates my sense of humor and silliness... that is what he loves best about me. We will celebrate our 11th anniversary this March.

The turbulent 60s

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsV2O4fCgjk
brought us where we are today. I remember watching the news... the Vietnam War... civil rights marches... assasinations... it felt like the world had gone crazy... at least in the United States... fast forward almost 50 years later and America has finally grown up!

Thank you Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Bobby Kennedy, John Kennedy and the countless others who sacrificed their lives and livelihood to bring us where we are today!
You shared the dream so we could live the reality!

These ants are driving me crazy!

Ok... so it's not a big stretch. But honestly... everytime I want to go somewhere there they are organizing another party! Just now when I was waiting for my laptop to heat up... out comes an ant from... I think inside my laptop! Talk about hackers! I really don't like killing things including bugs... so I end up tossing them outside. My hubby says it is probably the same ants coming inside and being tossed outside over and over. Maybe I should tag them like they do the wild animals. I researched different non toxic repellants... bay leaves was one suggestion... the ants walked all over that... orange spray works but when it dries they are back... I also put electrical tape along my baseboards and it does help there but asthetically it looks shall I say hillbillyish?my new thing is baby powder... we'll see, so far the only ant that should up was the one in my laptop... I didn't put baby powder on that.

I bought a terrific cookie recipe book for my furbabies this past Christmas... so far I'm the only one doing the baking and they are doing the eating... actually I have eaten some too... they are made with natural human ingredients so why not? If you like to bake and live with dogs (my cats are enjoying them too, but be sure to crumble their portion into small bits...my older cat had to receive the Heimlich because he swallowed to large a piece).

Hope your weekend is going well. The weather here is fantastic! Mid 60s is expected today which for me is great! although we do need more rain... are you listening rain goddess?
Don't for get to laugh outloud!

Closed my booth

yesterday. I was sad to do so, but we want to move to Southern California and I have to focus on that. I also want to leave my current job, pronto. I am looking at jobs that have the possibility of transferring. I am grateful to the owners Barbara and Rick of "Treasures From Paradise" who taught me alot about running a business (the right way). My day job is also teaching me things...specifically how NOT to run a business! I cannot believe I was able to fit all my "merch" in my two spare rooms and it looks halfway decent... for now... wait until I have to look for something and begin tearing the rooms apart to find it! Yikes!
This moving "thing" can get me overwhelmed if I look at all the things that have to be done! Our last big move was a three hour move from our original home... this one is almost nine hours away! So much to think about... new jobs for John and I... at least until we can start our own businesses. Which one to do first... find a home? or a job? I need to break things down in smaller "to do" lists. The economy is not helping matters either. I remember when I was younger... I took more risks... I would quit jobs and get another within days... no savings account... flew by the seat of my pants... lived in the moment... no goals... just floated along and had fun! Now I need a plan... I have to know where I'm headed... definitely would not quit job without another! Boy do we change when we get older.
Things to focus on today... get groceries, go to gym, read, relax. Tommorrow is another day. I read tarot cards and have been told I fill my time up with too much stuff and not enough reflection. I will listen to that and hoefully ideas will come to me.
Hope your Sunday is going well.
Did you laugh outloud yet?
xoxo Inge

I got mail!

I get excited when I order something via the internet and I watch for the mailman everyday until it arrives... I swear I think half the fun is the anticipation! This time I ordered some creative supplies from some etsy shop owners. I bought goddess and fairy charms... purchased from http://www.dragynsfyre.etsy.com/ and www.selinabeadsnbits.etsy.com/... I plan to make some fun stuff this weekend! I hope you have some fun plans this weekend too.

And by all means...don't forget to laugh out loud!
