I met with my oncologist today and found out the name of the chemo cocktail....
5-FU.... what a perfect name! Everytime I go to my treatment I plan to tell C here's some FU for you! I also found 2 women who were treated with 5-FU and they both recovered nicely. They also kept their hair.... good thing I found out about that because I was planning to shave my head when I got back home so I would not have to watch my hair fall out. Boy would I have been pissed off if I found out after the fact!
Today is the last day of 2010 and all I have to say is GOOD RIDDENS! This year has been a tough one but I made it. I can feel 2011 will be MUCH BETTER! I am already making plans for my thrift shop.... since I will be on disability for several months I will take advantage of it and learn everything I can about the biz. This "pain in the ass" is my wake up call. I am no spring chicken and even though I take good care of myself there is no guarantee of that I will not get sick.

Great news today though... I met my liver surgeon.... also known as a "God" by his staff... patients fly cross country to see him... how lucky am I to get him!!!! Monday he lops off 10% of my liver... luckily the lesion is on the end and easy to remove... then its killing off the "C" in my rectum with chemo. My doc said the liver was the bigger concern... who knew? I am such a lucky girl... when I came to emergency last Sunday, my blood count was 40% of what it should be and I was still walking around and my vitals looked normal... if they didn't look at my blood I would have been dead by Tuesday. My guardian angel was really looking out for me! I know it sounds cliche but I have been given a second chance and I will take advantage of it!

Since I will be in the hospital over the weekend and of course New Years Eve my family is out getting snacks and soft drinks for the staff and us to celebrate... we have a lot to celebrate and be thankful for. I want to thank everyone for praying for me... it definitely worked... James put me on his Facebook page and all his friends... some from around the world who sent good wishes including stories about relatives who beat cancer. I cannot tell you how inspiring and touched I am that so many care about me... one woman sent a note via the nurse's station (it was after hours) that she was thinking about me... I hadn't seen her for 20 years!

Happy New Year to you! and don't forget to laugh out loud! xo Inge

I have been catching up on my facebook account and came across a friend that is raising money for an animal sanctuary. Well, anyone who knows me... knows that I will put the word out. If you can help out here is the information...

It has been ages since my last blog entry. I am using my son, James laptop since mine is still out of order. I will cut to the chase... I am in UC Irvine Hospital right now. Apparently my butt has an issue... the C word. I have a great medical team here and am confident that I will get better but I would like to have your thoughts and prayers to help me out as well. I know the power of prayer is strong and miracles happen every day. I will keep you posted... I guess my hemorrhoid issue turned out to be a blessing. If I was not aware of that I would not have come into have it checked out. Thanks in advance for your support.
And don't forget to laugh out loud!!!! xo Inge

Here I am back at the library. One hour sure goes by fast! I have been at library a few times but did not have time to check in. My world is good... no complaints... no one wants to really listen anyway... ha! ha! no, really I do have lots to be thankful for. Hope your holidays are fun and do not stress out! Stay away from those crazy malls! Shop locally, give money to animal charities ( my favorite! way to donate) spend time with those you love, and take time to relax!
