I found some really cute ideas that I wanted to share with you. The cat bed looks really easy to make and I bet you can find an old suitcase laying around some thriftshop. I know you can find some used workboots there also. 

Wow look at these recycled tire planters! I bet you could get them for free from a tire store and just spray paint them.

I ran out of my face cream and I didn't want to spend the money to buy more...mainly because we are on a tight budget these days and quality face cream is expensive. So I discovered online recipes to make my own. The easiest one I found is aloe mixed with lanolin. I already have a large bottle of aloe juice in the frig so all I needed to buy was the lanolin. An 8 ounce bottle is $6 in Sprouts; you can find it in most health food stores. My recipe is 1 part lanolin to 3 parts aloe. I mixed a small amount together and stored them in small glass jar I had left over from something else...I have an assortment that I keep to use for other things. I keep the aloe in the frig, it seems to last a long time.

I went with a friend to the Old Tustin Flea Market to sell off some of my vintage things. They are leftovers from when I rented a booth at the antique mall in Paradise. Carole made handmade shoulder bag/purses to sell. I broke even, but had hoped to make a profit. Well, at least I didn't lose money. I will have to rethink things and maybe embellish things more...like add candles to the candle sticks and hang some bobbles from it. I noticed that the booths that did the best are still Shabby Chic style.

I am limited to what I can sell because I cannot carry alot of things around. I still need the walker because I can lose my balance easily. I cannot always depend on Carole wanting to sell with me either. I'm thinking of selling the bath salts and foot soaks again and package them in shabby containers; sell succulents in vintage containers...basically sell items that can be bought for gifts or personal use and are priced low but not too low where I can't make a decent profit. I also need to be able to set up the booth by myself.

Here are some photos of the bags Carole is selling. One of the leopard print bags has a compartment to hold a cell phone. They are big enough to hold a Kindle or Ipad and she sells them for $15 plus shipping.  If you would like one leave a comment and I will contact her.

I can now add organic farmer to my resume...now if I can just figure out which ones are organic tomatoes and which are organic cucumbers...next time I label them.

Wow, 3 posts in one day! I'm on a roll.... Last weekend was Earth Day and I went to the The Camp in Costa Mesa to get signatures for the Label GMOs initiative put on the ballot. (we needed 800,000 and I just heard we got 1 million!) anyways I brought my camera because I remembered that The Camp has unusual succulents all over the outside mall, and I am always looking for new ideas to plant mine.

What a great idea to promote your business

If you find yourself in Costa Mesa, California...you must go to The Camp! Its an outdoor "eco-community" mini-mall, ecclectic, dog- friendly, and has great places to eat including a vegan restaurant!

Look what I made out of a tee shirt...ok, not just any tee shirt. I helped get petitions signed these past few weeks to get GMOs labeled on our food in California and we were given these fun green shirts to wear. And I have to admit recycling this tee shirt into a tote bag was also not my idea. I met a woman who had a tee shirt tote loaded with  veggies the other day and I thought to myself "I can do that!" And so can you...

Just cut the sleeves off the tee and make the area around the collar bigger so you end up with handles. Then snip the edges of the bottom of the tee (it will look like fringe) and then tie them together and you are done! I plan to bring mine to the grocery store so I can  get the conversation started about labeling GMOs.

I'm Back!

I decided to keep both blogs but keep them seperate. This blog will be all about crafting, junking, growing succulents, and showcasing other blogs, links and people who are into the same things as me. I am a multi-facted person, so I want to nourish my creative part as well as my staying healthy part. I think the two are not mutually exclusive, however someone told me that its a good idea to keep my blog focused on one idea...so, I will blog about crafts, junking, succulents and the like on this blog.

My other blog...www.rectalcancermyass.blogspot.com/ will be all about life after cancer and staying healthy. Since I am multi-facted I have to include my activism about food, health, medicine (western and alternative), and of course stories of hope.

I even started crafting again and will show you my latest creation in my next post.
