I ran out of my face cream and I didn't want to spend the money to buy
more...mainly because we are on a tight budget these days and quality face cream
is expensive. So I discovered online recipes to make my own. The easiest one I
found is aloe mixed with lanolin. I already have a large bottle of aloe juice in
the frig so all I needed to buy was the lanolin. An 8 ounce bottle is $6 in
Sprouts; you can find it in most health food stores. My recipe is 1 part lanolin
to 3 parts aloe. I mixed a small amount together and stored them in small glass
jar I had left over from something else...I have an assortment that I keep to
use for other things. I keep the aloe in the frig, it seems to last a long time.

I like women who push the envelope!

which brings me to my feature artist...Katie Kutthroat who takes cross stitching and embroidery to another level!
She started cross stitching at age 14 and gave one of her first pieces to a guy she was dating at the time.. It was a towel with his name in cursive with little decorative designs in the corners. She started embroidering about 4 months ago and likes to use Sublime Stitching because they make so many amazing designs for her to play with.
She started making jewelry when she was about 17, but didn't get into it as much until she was living in New Orleans. She worked at a bead shop, actually called The Bead Shop, where she learned how to wire wrap and some other basic techniques.
Katie opened her etsy store about 4 months ago, which includes some Sublime Stitching pieces, along with Nintendo themed pieces and of course her witty one liners. "Sassy samplers make you rethink cross stitching.. its not just for grandmothers anymore! " Be sure to check out her blog http://katiekutthroat.blogspot.com/ and her etsy shop http://www.katiekutthroat.etsy.com/

I have found a terrific new shop at etsy.com that you must visit and buy their soap! http://www.whitelyesoap.com/. They offer a variety of essential oils, fragrance oils, and fresh botanicals. They are handmade and handcut. What I really like is that they offer specialty soaps for parties, hotels, special occasions, and healing soaps.
They have recently started featuring other etsy artists under the section, what is etsy? You must check out that section too!! I was chosen to be one of the shops featured for this month. I feel so lucky! So be sure to check out White Lye Soap Company . I know I will be shopping there.

It's Easter Already!
I spent my day working on my art and watching old movies, and of course wearing my Easter bonnet! My son bought this lovely hat for me over 10 years ago and everytime I wear it in public I get alot of attention. That is my idea of the perfect day! I also added some new goodies to my etsy shop. I also bought the U2 18 CD from eBay for John. I have been looking for that Cd for awhile and finally won it! My critters had fun too. They always like it when we stay home with them. They get extra hugs and petting. How great would it be to work from home! I have become such a homebody.
